Once they pulled out of the parking lot, Gage was a little startled at how fast his sacrifice was driving. They past a street sign with the speed limit written across it but they flew by so quick that he didn't have the chance to see what it said. That in and of itself was a sign that she was going way too fast . He didn't want to say anything, though, fearing somewhat that she would get pissed at him for talking again and do something stupid while they were on the road. So, he remained silent.
That is, until Last Friday Night started playing on the radio. It was a little awkward, but it didn't stop Gage from flicking his ears once he heard the familiar song. It seemed ironic that this song would start playing for the two of them, but he paid it no mind, because Astrid suddenly...apologized. He was genuinely surprised and didn't quite know what to say. "Yeah," he said awkwardly, his usual social nature seemingly gone. It was strange how his sacrifice's suddenly sour mood seemed to dampen his as well. Maybe that's what everyone was always talking about with the units -- when one is upset, so is the other. It was the emotional attachment between the two that caused such things to happen, and the thought of such actually made the red-head smile a little. It was a pleasant thought among the other not-so-happy ones.
"The arcade sounds fun," he suggested, his new-found thought bringing some optimism back to his voice. "Bet I'll kick your ass at every game in the store."

> His braggy comment earned a sudden laugh from Astrid, who felt her bad mood fading away. "As if. You're probably too busy flirting with the boys to bother getting an edge up on any video games. I'll be the one kicking your ass." She glanced back at him quickly. "Maybe I'll win you a stuffed animal before the movie. Doesn't that sound like fun?" A wicked grin, and then eyes back on the road.
> Driving with Gage was distracting, so she'd learned.
> They pulled up to the Theater and she hesitantly parked in the lot beside it, not liking the idea of leaving her precious baby alone in such a low-class parking lot like this one. Even after the engine was switched off, she clung tightly to the machine, almost refusing to budge. What if someone scratched the paint!? Or dented her baby's precious shell!? Oh lord, what if they broke a mirror or a light!? "...why don't they have indoor parking in this city?" She muttered, not at all happy with their lack-luster town.

"Hey, I can multitask, thank you," he said, his voice showing the usual signs of his playful exterior. He leaned forward and rested his chin on her shoulder as they drove on, relaxing. The least he could do was try not to fall off the damn moped, even though she was going entirely too fast for his liking. "I like stuffed animals," he commented randomly, although he was still agreeing with what she'd said, even if she had said it sarcastically. "The movie sounds like it'll be fun though. Even if we miss it, we can pick out another one." Was Gage being talking seriously for the first time ever?
Once they got to the parking lot, Gage hopped off the moped so Astrid could do the same. However, when she didn't immediately do the same, he gave a frown. "What, you gonna send me into the arcade alone while you and your baby spend some alone time together?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as a smirk threatened to call him out. He took a glance around. "There aren't too many people here, sorta, so Im sure it'll be fine."

> Astrid shot him a glare from her Baby, tail flicking. "...But people around here don't care about nice things..." Or so she figured, like a true New Yorker. "...if she gets damaged, we're taking your car from now on." She grumbled as she finally dismounted, using her starter to lock and arm the alarm. If anyone so much as brushed against the damn thing, it'd scream bloody murder until she turned off the alarm. Simple as that.
> She marched over to Gage and grabbed his arm, locking elbows. "Right then. Let's go buy our tickets. Which movie do you want to see?" She looked up at him, ears perked and tail waving behind her (a habit she'd picked up from Avery, wagging when happy). "You pick. I only looked into one of them and that's Dream House. I don't even know if we'd get into that one, though. The rating's iffy."

"Sure, sure," he surrendered, knowing that his piece of shit car wouldn't last them too long unless he got it looked at. Astrid said she'd take a look at it and fix it up a little, but they hadn't made any plans to do so yet. It would perpetually sit in the parking lot of the academy until he had means to use it. Recently, the only thing it was good for was to store his textbooks and other things useless to him. Either way, something needed to be done, and soon.
When Astrid locked arms with him, he grinned. "Taking the lead, like always," he mocked, and shook his head as he walked with her. "And I thought we were gonna go to the arcade first. Changed your mind already?" he asked, wondering which movies were playing at the moment just in case she wanted to go there first. He hadn't even checked to see which ones were playing, so this process was in vain. He glanced around the area, wondering where exactly the movies were. He'd never been here before.

> "We'll hit the arcade once tickets are bought. We don't know how popular any of these movies are gonna be. They could sell out while we're waiting." She explained, dragging him along at a casual pace towards the theater. It wasn't very distinct, just a brick building with a 'now playing' sign above the main doors. Small but acceptable.
> Nothing like the imax theaters Aussie was used to.
> "I figure we can see Dream House, if you're willing to wait about half an hour." She murmured as they came up to the front doors, her eyes on the play times inside. "Looks like we've missed the first showing by about ten minutes. That's too much for my liking; I like snacks..."
> And she didn't finish with words, simply looking across at the huge lines from the popcorn and treats. Ew. "Dream House sound good to you, Tomcat?"

Gage cracked up at her explanation. "You really think in this place with five people that the movie theater is gonna sell out while we play some games?" But he walked along after her anyway, knowing she'd go to the ticket center whether he was following her or not. He frowned up at the sign that barely distinguished the building from any other on the block. "What a weird place.."
However, he was snapped from his mental bashing of the town when Astrid called him back into reality. "Oh, yeah, that's fine. We'll have plenty of time to play some games." He saw her turn her gaze upon the lines of people waiting for popcorn. "Do you wanna get something to eat while we wait? They probably have pizza or something at the arcade, unless you wanna go somewhere else."
He glanced around at the street they were on, but couldn't really tell one place apart from the next. How did people in this town know where the hell they were going!?
