During the beginning stages of Heartless, while there aren't enough characters to hold a true tournament, NPC teams will be generated in order to add enough players to make the competitions interesting.
The NPCs may participate in multiple rounds, but they may not win the championship. Why volunteer to be an NPC then? Not only will you get valuable on-site combat experience which can be used in next month's tournament, but with every post you make on these NPCs, you will earn $5 on a character of your choice, which would be like making a post on that character.
These NPC teams are added to the adoption center upon creation to allow for them to reach permanent homes after competing in the tournament.
NPCs all have their own log in, and receive a simple, text posting table from the wonderful Sky.
