Not off-site as in, off the website.
Off-site as in away from the general area.
Granted it's meant to be only in the area of the school, but I figured a board or two for out-of-town areas could be put in, like, just for the summer or winter breaks. The students would go home eventually and it'd be neat to continue threading even afterwards.
Now this won't be a willy-nilly thing.
Each player would have to pay for their own board area, which would consist of two sections; the home of their character and the town in which they reside in.
So basically, since I suck at explaining...
Sky's Board-
Each home board would cost like $500. Each sub board (after the first, which would be free and included with the main board) would cost an extra $100.
Prices obviously aren't precise or final or anything, heck, the idea for this is very, very rough, but I figured it'd be a nice addition to keep the board active when school's out.
It also offers some more diversity for players to explore and enjoy. More areas, ect.
I honestly don't know. I haven't figured out how to make this work without being too pushy about it, since everyone seems to come from different places.
Ahem. Another idea, btw. It was mentioned before in the chat.
Someone asked if we could play teachers, which we can't.
....why not?
I figure a player looking to play a teacher would have to be using their second character slot, bought from the store like normal. They'd apply differently, an application a touch more strict than students.
That would mean classes though.
Which I've seen done before on other sites and it's worked out well; in fact, players have loved it. It gives them a chance to learn a few things and it gave a more realistic setting and experience.
....blah.
Anyways, if classes/teachers were to be had, I'd be happy to work out a way for it to happen. Schedules for each student (based on grades), lessons, ect.
It's all very confusing when I explain it but really, I have a good idea of how it'd work.
Each student character would have to participate in one of each of the given classes per semester. Semesters would be divided realistically, like they would in regular school. Missing a class makes them get a bad mark on their 'home report' (a 'real' report I or staff would write up and hand out xD) and depending on how many classes they attended, they'll either fail or pass the grade for next year.
I'm not entirely sure if anyone would go for this, or if it'd work out now with our low member count, but I've seen it work on other sites and it's been a lot of fun. It encourages players to actively participate and progresses their own characters accordingly.
Also, students wouldn't wander around aimlessly. ._. All. The. Time. Like they do now.
Also, student/teacher interaction would be cool. :D Teachers would be living on campus or nearby, like the students would be, meaning they'd have the same schedule pretty much.
We could ever make a teacher's lounge. :P
UM. Yeah. BADLY provided ideas, but I mean well. Any opinions?
