ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED PARTIES

We need to start planning this whole teacher thing. With Avery finally having caved to our twisted desires, we at least owe her a break with this one. Since she's asked us to organize this new, wonderful addition to the site, I figure I'll set up a FACULTY TEAM.

Basically a group of people dedicated to creating the wonderful world of adulthood for Heartless.

Anyone else interested, just post here and I'll add you to the list. Remember, though; this isn't a real staff position for the site. We're volunteers, like a committee, ready to aid our overworked admin in bettering Heartless! VIVA LA TEAMWORK!

WHAT WE NEED

• SUBJECTS- We'll need to figure out what subjects are taught to what grades. We can't just have Math and Science for everyone. Each grade needs a specified course outline in order for us to both make sense and to include as many new faculty characters as possible. Don't forget; we don't use the same textbook every year. It gets tougher as we go. Math 10 and Math 12 are not the same thing. Also remember; this is a school for Fighters and Sacrifices, meaning there'll be extra classes and subjects based around the world of magical word battles.
  
  
• TEXTBOOKS- I came up with this one myself. It's yet to be confirmed as a part of this new update, so accept this job tentatively. We could use textbooks for our specialized classes, and maybe ever minor guidebooks to our mundane ones. It'd be good to have references as to what's being taught in each class, for in-character fluidity. We can't have some grade ten students learning one thing, the others learning an entirely different thing in the same class with the same teacher. It just doesn't make sense. There's no continuity to it. These don't have to be detailed, long and boring; basically just a list of what each class teaches at what grade level. Remember though; these aren't a confirmed part of the update, just something I thought I'd suggest and offer.
  
  
• FACULTY SPOTS- What teacher goes to what class, ect. Basically a list of job openings for our new faculty, as well as NPC teachers to fill the gap in the meantime. I figured, ICly, each NPC teacher would be replaced by the new one applying for the spot. Each spot would only allow a single teacher at a time, so say MR. BOB wanted to become a MATH 10 professor; NPC MS JANE would have to have a good reason for suddenly disappearing- she'd retire or get fired for some mundane, unimportant reason -thus making room for MR. BOB to take over.
  
  Each NPC teacher would be adoptable, though, as a special treat. (Maybe consider making an adoptable teacher cheaper than a custom teacher?)
  
  
• AREA DESCRIPTIONS- I want to make this new addition to the site as painless as possible for Avery and Skylar. A good way to help some more is to come up with descriptions for necessary new areas for teachers to use, like students would have with the dorms. A teacher's dorm for those who stay overnight during the school year, a teachers' lounge, stuff like that. The more we do to map out the uncharted parts of the school, the easier it'll be for Avery to add them to the site. Again, not a confirmed addition/plan of action, but I figured with teachers comes more areas, since teachers wouldn't always be around the students anyway.

Maybe we could consider some new additions to the shop too, or something else that could help make teachers a fun thing to buy, to convince people that the price is worth it. I'm thinking a teachers' only board, like a teachers' lounge (as suggested above) and maybe a bar in town for adult characters only.

Also keep in mind that with teachers, we could also have groundsmen. Gardener, Janitor, Headmistress/Headmaster, Dorm Heads for the students, Nurse and Councilor. These are suggestions but I figured I'd bring them up to people.

This update could bring in a lot of new members to the site; I know quite a few people from other sites that like playing adults more than children, so this would for sure interest them. I think once this is all sorted out, I'll make a new ad to show off our hard work.

Any other suggestions? Ideas? Comments? Complaints?

dood. really... you had to go and suggest gardener? REALLY SKY REALLY. now I cannot decide. Anyway -- Sullivan shall be a teacher... I think -- preferably for a core class or something because he's deliriously messed up and wants nothing to do with spellbattles (why is he even here then?) but Yeah. I'll help out with anything you need me to do.. so just let me know.

As for teacher Applications .. I think they should be a little different and perhaps stricter/more involved for teachers than students. As they would be in real life. :3 I could work on that if you'd like.

So! Zeb the do-whatever-you-want-me-to-grunt reporting for duty!

I was thinking, for the teacher application.. would an interview format be received well? or should I keep it traditional but tailored to teacher specifics? I was toying around with some ideas yesterday -- but didn't want to get too far into anything without getting the go ahead.

Avery was nice enough to point out our class plans, so if we go off that, we can set up some positions for people to apply for when they buy a teacher. (that sounds so wrong xD)

I figured we'd have one teacher for each subject; BOB would teach all the math classes, for example. Sound fair?

Hey Zeb, I'd like to see the applications you have so far. :3 I could give some feedback and maybe fiddle with them to get the best of both types into one application. We'll run them by Avery and Skylar once they're done on our end and see if they approve. If not, we can use the normal application and edit it to match an adult character. Mind PMing me with the apps?

OKAY PEOPLE! here's the deal. Since Sky's suffering from sporadic inactivity syndrome (aka.. SIS) we're gonna take most of the responsibilty off her shoulders so that she doesn't have to worry about this on top of her other stresses. So. I have a base application made -- but would like someone else to look it over and give suggestions. I think Sky will do this as well, but we want to move forward so she can be proud of us when she gets back.

Guidelines are still needed -- and I've got some ideas for those as well, but I think only one or two would be needed (perhaps basic points highlighting a need for increased activity and dedication) because the general rules and things would be the same as for everyone else.

We need to decide what the situation would be with partners and teams -- names could probably still be given by Avery -- but they'd need to already be partnered and whatnot. That will have to be cleared up with the admins. :3

Shop -- The teacher/adult (at least, we were thinking) would be a purchase so we'd need to talk with admins as well here, to see about pricing.

As well as most of the things still in Sky's post up there I'm not going to retype it because I'm too lazy

So Yeah. Also, if this seems rude for taking up with slack or whatever -- than ignore it. I just don't want her to have to handle all of this and posting and whatever else with the little time she will have online we all know Astrid and Gage need plenty of lovey time <3
