Name: Fern Hollow
Age: 17
DoB: April 1st
Gender: Female
Grade: Junior
Position Sacrifice
Hair: Fern's hair is a light red brown in color. Smooth, wavy and shiny...when she feels like taking care of it. Most of the time it's messy and pulled back away from her face.
Ears: Large, overly so for her head. They look kind of comical, and are stiped with a darker brown. But hey, at least it's easy to tell how she's feeling. Her emotions are easily read through her ears. Her tail is the same in color, and almost constantly moving or twitching in some way.
Eye Color: Pale cloud-gray.
Skin Tone: She's practicaly albino....at least she likes to say she is. She is rather pale, but has a light peach-ish undertone. So things aren't really as bad a s she makes them sound. She'd love to get more sun, but she burns like nothing else. It's either look like a tomato, or look pasty.
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 104 pounds, give or take a few. It fluctuates a little bit.
Description: Small for her age, Fern's an unassuming young lady....if you could call her that. If she tried just a bit harder to focus on her appearance, as she did when she was younger. Her hair, when taken care of, is a rather pretty red-brown. The red really shows through when she's outside in the light, but flourescent, indoor lighting tends to make it look like a light shade of brown. It still retains the color, but not the shine, even when not taken care of. Which is most of the time these days, and she just pulls it back away from her face, where it fans out behind her head, little tendrils poking around when viewed from the front. Her eyes are large, and either hold an expression of quiet amusement or anoyance. She smirks often, and is probably laughing at something that only she finds funny. She tries to hold back her emotions, but those large ears give her away. She blushes often, and the color is incredibly visible against her pale skin. Across her nose rests a scattering of freckles, and they won't go away. She's been told she looks cute. Small in stature and speckled like crazy, she really is. She just won't admit it to anyone. When she feels like it's worth the time and effort, she'll dress up nice, but can most of the time be seen in jeans and any variety of t-shirts, converse included, right on her small feet. She goes nowhere without those shoes, and owns them in a variety of colors..and patterns..and she even has a pair or two that she painted herself.

Personality:
Fern is fun, depending on your tastes.
Or really, really infuriating.
Take your pick.
She is one of those people, the ones where no one thinks exactly the same thing twice about her. She is either the single most annoying person you've ever met, the meanest, the funniest, the most loyal or the flightiest. Really, though it may seem like it's all on her, and in a way it is, she treats people the way she does based on first impressions. If they screw up the first time, the odds of getting a second chance are slim to none. She tends to have very few friends wherever she is because of this. She's just so selective in who she allows to get close, personal security being the motivation. She loves to pick and poke and tease, cracking jokes at anyone's expense. She just loves to see how people react, and unless she dislikes someone for some reason, it's all in good fun. She has a sarcastic streak a mile wide, and is in no way afraid to use it. Fern is an easily annoyed person, and though she tries her best to seem nonchalant most of the time, her physical features tend to give her away. She is loud, demanding, and most certainly confusing.
Quite the accquired taste, you know?
History:
She was born in the most boring town in the entire state, some place full of "history" and "charm". To her, growing up, it was about as charming as a convicted criminal, but more historical than most history textbooks. She was never interested in that, though she's always been quite the devil when it came down to intelligence. She just wanted to be stable, being passed from home to home, family member to family member, because her parents weren't fit for their job. Though young, because this tossing around started when Fern was about five or six...she can't quite remember anymore, she was determined to be a "good kid", to prove to everyone that the mistakes of her parents weren't her own. That she was different...but every time she was settled and happy in a new home, some snarky comment of hers would set someone off, or her need to constantly be moving would annoy an uptight aunt or uncle, and she would be off to live with someone else.
Which was really annoying.
And scary...she just wanted a place to call "home" for more than a few months at a time.
It was like..well, magic, when the oppurtunity came. Kind of funny, because it was, wasn't it? A chance to go live, and learn, of course, at a school she shouldn't have been able to afford. Luckily, the family member she'd been living with at the time could foot the bill, whatever the cost was, and they still do. It's probably because she isn't living with them full time, they're better off with her away...it's the first time Fern's known anything stable and she enjoys it for all the world. She's never asked, she just goes..and goes..and goes. Because who knows what stopping means?
OOC Name: Hedge
Years of RPing Experience: Four, almost five.
Other Characters: None so far...
Roleplaying Example: (This...is from a DRoP site, Libertas Renatus..XD If you don't know what DRoP is, a copy-paste search in google should work wonders. Xandra and Xandrask are mine, obviously....and I tend to write long posts as a warning..and I mean looong. Heh heh.)
"We really need to get out more, you and I. i mean...I've been spending too much time cooped up because I was scared..and you still are..but i'm getting better..and I can't let anything halt the process. not even cold weather."
She rambled, hands shoved into the pockets of the oversized sweater she'd thrown on over her clothes, a long-time project that she was finally able to use. At least her previous mental state had given her one good thing; the time to work...though it had cut her off from a lot of things. Then again, the chances of her having any serious conversations with either of her brothers was slim, and the time difference was a bit of a bummer...but she'd run into them. Her sleeping habits hadn't changed in the slightest and Xandrask had finally learned to sleep through her daytime wanderings. Which was nice..she still liked the sunshine when she could grasp at it. As she walked, down through the cavers because they were practically empty and quiet, and she still wasn't quite ready for large crowds, she chattered. Bran walked by her heels and Xandrask was always right behind. And 'Kota, who was more restless than usual, was bobbing somewhere ahead.
Xandrask watched her, head tilted in mild confusion. She wasn't used to hers talking so fast, or so much, but it had been happening more and more recently. It was...okay. A little strange, but okay. Why XandraMine talk so much now? Is XandraMine sick? She pondered, slipping in closer even if there wasn't really room, her voice rumbling and crackling...it was as if a small storm had gotten caught in with them, a bright green cloud bobbing behind Xandra's head. Or maybe she was just being too optimistic..she wasn't quite sure how to act anymore...she shook her head, shrugging. "No..not sick. i feel pretty good..I don't know. I need to talk, or something. I'm restless. We all are, and winter hasn't even started." She scuffed her feet on the ground, looking down at them as loose curls of hair fell around her face. She stopped, standing somber for a moment, before continuing on. Every so often she had to stop and start again, but it was a work in progress.
She had to be okay. People were a bit scared if she wasn't, and they still were...really..mostly because Xandrask liked to snarl at people. The large green wher was rather confused these days, unable to understand why her bonded kept on going on about "getting better" and not being so scared. it was good to worry, it was smart...Hers was being unreasonable, and there was no way to make sense of it. She'd tried..several times..but ever since lessons had started...
Well, it was just a muddled mess.
Absentmindedly, Xandra reached up and wrapped a strand of hair in her fingers, fiddling with it as they walked in silence. Outward silence, because her mind was running off again, thinking. So it wasn't all that quiet. she looked up, hearing a bird-like chirping noise. Quickly, because it was coming in fast, she raised her arm against her face, right as four little clawd feet latched onto her arms and wings beat the air. "'Kota." She scolded, holding her arm out. The green continued to chirp, her round little head tilting this way and that. She was so round, and heavy, like a ball attached to her forearm...but it was alright. Her arm was tired already, though, so Xandra shifted the creature onto her shoulder. images flashed in her head. A bell, a brown, faces.
"What do you want now, silly?" Xan asked, scratching the flit's head. "You want to go find them and play? Well..go then..." Her first, and eldest, pet took off, and she followed behind. Her pace was slower, inhibited by her cramped position between Branwen and Xandrask, so the three of them soon lost sight of their little, one-creature search team.
She bobbed on ahead, a winged ball on a mission. Hers, smart, smart hers..had told her to go look..but she wasn't so good at looking. She kept on finding the wrong people, and everyone seemed to be upset with her because she was screeching at them. Maybe they knew where he was..that boy. She hadn't seen him in a while, him or his pets..or that big brown thing. But no one was telling her. Frustrated, she settled on a shelf-like thing..having found an open area that some people seemed to be passing in and out of. A bigger room..maybe he would come here...and she would find him..and bring him to Hers. She sat, wobbling because the shelf wasn't quite large enough to handle something her size and shape, and crooned, Hers was close, and she hadn't done her job at all.
Finally catching up with her pet, Xan leaned against the same wall and looked up. Kota's eyes swirled with apologetic colors and the sounds she was making were absolutely pitiful...Xandra shrugged, smiling up at the green in reassurance. "We'll just stand here and wait..and if we don't see them...there's always a next time." She really hoped 'Kota got what she wanted...because she did, too. She wanted to show him that she'd grown up..even if it had been difficult. She had so much to tell him..and she wouldn't..no, couldn't tell anyone else.
Her words weren't for their strange faces, their unrelated curiosity.
Eventually, she slid down into a seating position, legs crossed with Xandrask's head in her lap. she ran her hand down the wher's neck, watching faces as people passed by. They must have looked strange, because they were earning uneasy glances. She just looked away from them, not caring for their presence if they weren't him. She didn't know them, they didn;t care..she wouldn't offer them even a greeting. it was better that way, according to the rumblings of her wher. Safer...Maybe. What could it hurt to say hello?
Hurt much. Xandrask says no hello.
Okay...maybe later.
