Parties. The number one way to Astrid's heart. She never missed one when it came time for a celebration. Especially not on Hallows Eve.
However, she could've happily gone without the costume she'd been forced into wearing. A maid. Really? She'd had a bet with Skylar going over Avery a few nights before, one that was won by the fighter very easily. We won't get into what the bet was, but it had something to do with coffee and a very hyper, very wild Avery the rest of the night.
As well as a very aggravated Skylar. Astrid was kind of scared not to hold up her end of the bet. That boy was scary sometimes. Damn dog.
So dressed up in a (albeit altered) maid costume, Astrid strutted towards the party, chin high and proud as if her costume weren't something to be laughed at. In fact, it wasn't; she'd added color to it, rainbow in fact, and her hair was dyed to match. She'd even dyed her ears and tail for this, black with different color rings along the tail and a red, orange and yellow series of stripes on her left ear, green, blue and purple on the right. She'd even worn contacts, yet again, rainbow colored to match the rest of her costume.
She'd gone all out this year, for certain. If she was being forced to dress up as a maid instead of something terrifying, damn straight she'd do it in her own, unique flare.
She'd texted Gage to get his ass to the party pronto shortly before leaving. Her plans included showing up, mingling, dancing and hogging her fighter all to herself. Halloween was not a night for watching him break her heart again and again by flirting with every guy that walked past. No, tonight, he'd be her date, whether he knew it or not.
She stopped at the main doors leading into the dance floor, leaning against a wall and sighing. Gage would probably be late again. He'd probably not even have been dressed when she'd texted.
She flicked out her phone and stared at the screen, waiting for him to at least text her back or something. So far, nothing. 'I hope he'll come.' She thought mildly, glancing up as a pair of girls walked past, giggling at the rainbow neko's outfit. She flipped them off with a grin that meant she didn't mean offense and the two blinked, then laughed as they went inside, unfazed but respectful of the strange maid's attitude.
Yes, tonight was going to be a lot funner that she'd expected at first. As long as Gage showed up.
For GAGE mostly, but anyone can join. :D Happy Halloween!
